Rachel Andrew over at Digital Web rocked my world this week. She pointed out that upcoming IE8 will support the CSS “table” display attribute for all appropriate HTML elements. This has incredible implications for web designers like myself. It will save site builders precious time that could be spent on more important details.
She does a great job explaining it all, so check it out.
Unfortunately, 25% of you are still using Internet Explorer Version 6. This means that, although the technology exists and will be freely available, you and I won’t be able to use it for another 5 years. Perhaps you didn’t realize that you are using 8 year old software on your 3 year old computer. The best news is it is free, painless to upgrade and dangerous not to do so. However, my real recommendation would be to delete that blue “e” on your congested desktop and go download Firefox NOW! I mean it, I love you, do it.
